Conservation Buyer Program

BACTrust has developed an exciting program named the “Conservation Buyer” program.   The program matches conservation-worthy properties currently on the market with buyers who wish to enjoy this beautiful countryside while helping to protect its open, private land.  Conservation buyers typically donate conservation easements to the Barrington Area Conservation Trust that permanently protect a property's conservation values and restrict its development potential.  These buyers may be eligible for significant tax benefits while protecting the wildlife habitat, unique views, and rural heritage of their property for the benefit of themselves and the community.  In this program BACTrust works with buyers, sellers, and realtors.  Each conservation easement is as unique as each landowner.  The program has great potential for preserving our countryside through the private decisions of each buyer.

In October 2006 Bradford-White worked with Mimi Burke and Paul Wells of RE/MAX of Barrington to present the program to the Realtors in their office.  The meeting went very well and many good and appropriate questions and answers were generated.  Bradford-White hopes to keep fostering the relationship with RE/MAX.  If you are considering selling or buying property in the area, please consider working with them.  We are also hoping to build relationships with other area Realtors as well.
