Heritage Corridors | We at BACTrust are very excited about our current conservation programs. The programs offer many tools for all residents who love our countryside and want to participate in saving and protecting it. Land Protection Program Our Land Protection Program is made up of two programs: The Conservation Buyer Program The Conservation Buyer program matches conservation worthy properties with buyers wishing to preserve the conservation value of the property. Barrington Area Conservation Trust works directly with local Realtors and buyers in this program. (Read more.) The Saving Our Countryside Program In the Saving Our Countryside program the Barrington Area Trust identifies conservation worthy properties and will purchase the land to hold until a conservation buyer may be found. (Read more.) The Conservation@Home program is in cooperation with The Conservation Foundation of Naperville and Citizens for Conservation. The Conservation@Home program recognizes property owners who protect or create environmentally friendly yards by using native prairie and woodland wildflowers, trees, and shrubs, by creating butterfly and rain gardens, and by removing invasive species. It includes preserving areas that already provide healthy natural habitats such as prairies, stream corridors, wetlands and woods. (Read more.) ![]() Our new Heritage Corridors program offers an exciting high impact opportunity to preserve the character of the Barrington Area. Such roadways maintain the visual, historical, and cultural significance of the communities. This program encourages them to be maintained in their natural scenic condition for the benefit of the public. (Read more.) The Barrington Area Conservation Trust has organized a quarterly round table for local legal professionals to discuss family and estate planning, tax issues, conservation law, and the benefits of these issues to the clients they serve in Northeastern Illinois. The program has recently been accredited by the Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) Board of the Supreme Court of Illinois. Lawyers who attend qualify for continuing education credits.
